How we can Help
How Does Physical Therapy Help Foot & Ankle Pain?
At Cuirim Sports Recovery, we regularly work with runners, field and court sport athletes, active adults, older adults, and post-operative patients experiencing foot and ankle pain. While every case is different, our approach begins by identifying the mobility limitations, strength deficits, balance impairments, movement dysfunctions, and other factors contributing to your symptoms so we can determine the most effective treatment strategy for your recovery.
Understanding the root cause of foot and ankle pain starts with a thorough assessment. Depending on your symptoms and goals, we evaluate ankle range of motion, strength of the calf and foot/ankle musculature, glute strength, balance and single-leg stability, gait mechanics, and jumping or landing patterns. When appropriate, we also utilize force plates and dynamometry for objective testing.
The key metrics we track include strength symmetry, ankle mobility (particularly dorsiflexion), single-leg balance and control, load tolerance, and overall movement quality. These measurements help us identify limitations, guide treatment decisions, and objectively monitor your progress throughout rehabilitation.
